Stomped on Sight
More t-shirt designs are going up on here than I had thought. Here's the next one: a young punk band from Baltimore called "Stomped on Sight" asked me a while ago to do their shirts, and I really liked the idea they were throwing around. I did not expect it to be as challenging as it was so it too me a little longer to finish.
I should probably put a link up to their myspace page but you could look them up too.

"SOUGHT" Exhibition at Amberella Gallery
This show is sort of like "Paper Dolls II" except it isn't on paper, there's no crosshatching invlolved, and its tighter conceptionally. Actually, the only thing it has in common with "Paper Dolls" is the fashion industry slant.
The entire series is specific types of poses of supermodel Lara Stone. So if you don't like her, the show is not for you. If you do like her you'll probably love it. If you're like me and don't have a clue who she is, you'll probably still really like the work. (She's a hot tomale!)
The theme is obsession and collection. Obsession with something you can't have, collection of bits and pieces of treasure connecting the obsession.

Here is a blog that was written about the Paper Dolls show at Arcadia Boutique. Thank you Somers.

Hate And War Album art
Sorry its been a long time since an update, but I'm just starting this thing out anyways and probably don't have any regular readers yet anyways. If you are checking this out, I hope you enjoy this.
This is the album art for my friend Blayer's punk band, Hate And War. I don't really know what the album will sound like, but from hanging out with them a little, i think this is a good interpretation of the guys. -jb

Paper Dolls
This series is comprised of drawings traced from high fashion magazines. A brief artist's statement will follow this section in a short while. What you need to know now? I loved making this work. I learned a lot from making these and I think that is a good leaping off point and introduction to the blog you are reading. I will make it a common theme throughout my posts of what I am learning, mostly about the art and art culture, but also about myself and things around me.
Thanks for reading and if you were directed here because of the exhibit, thanks for coming out, more art will be up shortly besides what you already have seen.
